I need more power, simply put. Has anyone done a 5.0 conversion? And if so, what was the cost from start to finish?
Also...What other engines will drop in with very little modification?
4.0 V-6?
4.6 V-8?
5.7 V-8? (heheheheh)
I'd really like to get a 4.6 or 5.0, supercharge that **** and drop it in...It would be so much fun picking on V-8 chevy trucks that think they're so fast...hahahaha I have a DREAM folks! Let's see if I can make it happen. Sure would be fun.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Jul-02 AT 07:04 PM (EST)]I did the engine swap in my 85 BII back in 90. I used the complete drivetrain from a 74 Bronco. It now sports a 302, C-4, Dana 20, and all the axles. The swap is rather easy if you have some mechanical backround. You need the new engine mounts and stubby headers. The only problem that I had was getting the radiator to sit correct but you probally can go with a mustang setup. The other thing I did find out is that because I have a body lift it was easier for the engine to fit and the 6" suspension gave me the clearance for the straight axle. But boy can that truck get up and go, even with the 39 mickeys on it. Good luck and have fun.
