Redo

I have a 95 F150 that I am looking into completely redoing after I finish school here. I have started to go through and get ideas of what needs to be done, I know that the motor wil eventually need to be done, new seals, rings, ect. I want to make this already stout motor completely bullet proof. I'm not looking for enough torque to pull a football stadium, or a top speed of mach 7, but I want to beef it up past stock. What all would be involved and should I keep it EFI or go to a carb?

What tranny?

I'd stay EFI and ask about balance and blueprint costs, and possibly bumping the compression a point or two if I could get it as part of the deal....

You could do some head work, see other comments as I think the exhaust is really bad.

I ask about tranny because the engine has good power but a narrow powerband. If you have more gears you can make better use of your power.

Do you have to smog--a 95 has to pass at the pipe and visual in CA, so no cutting the cats or three carbs or any of that...

Good luck.

I'm in MN, no testing anymore. By the time I touch the truck it will be old enough to do whatever I want. Right now it has a M5OD, but when I redo it will be a ZF5. Already have custom exhaust too
