Angry blower motor

On an '88 Bronco, the fan blows only when placed on the highest setting. I am thinking the control panel is bad, any suggestions?

There may be a resistor assembly for the intermediate settings, you might look near the fan for another connector that plugs in the near the plenum.

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger with the same problem, however, I can not locate the blower motor resistor assembly. I even bought a manual and it doesn't show a picture of it, so I am having a hard time locating it.

I'm not sure about the location of the blower motor resister, except on my '78 ford, it is located in the duct work behind the glove box. The fact that the blower motor only works on high is an indication that the resistor is bad because the resistor is bypassed on the high setting, allowing 12 volts of power to run the blower.
