fuel pump ecentric
im currently putting a 70 lincoln timing set in my 78 460 and i was wondering why the cam dowel doesnt go through the fuel pump ecentric. it doesnt on my factory timing set either. what holds the ecentric from spinning on the cam?

The clamping force of the cam bolt is what prevents the eccentric from spinning on the cam. Don't know why Ford decided to do it this way but they did. It shouldn't be a problem unless the bolt loosens.

thats good to know cuz i thread locked it and tighten to 40 ft lbs. it runs great, but the power increase isnt as much as i hoped. oh well it was a cheap and needed upgrade and i gained some throttle response/ low end...
