I decided to upgrade my radiator the other day from a 1 core aluminum to a 2 core aluminum.
not a bad idea, I mean I had to get diffirent hoses since it was set up for an automatic trans and I have a stick.
93 ranger buy the way.
anyway started makin a noise on the highway, so I clicked it off and it siezed.
Stopped and the radiator hose (lower) had blow completey off and the truck was dry.
after the tow home i realised that water was getting into the cylinders, so I pulled apart the engine and installed all new gaskets; didn't do a whole rebuild since I did one just about 20k ago.
The engine runs now, but won't idle right, and shakes all over the place.
put new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor on again
Did you check the compression? Which gaskets did you replace? When you checked the vacuum, did the needle hold steady at 15, or was it bouncing around? Does it shake all over the place only at an idle, or all the time? You need to do some more troubleshooting to find this problem, and I think compression and vacuum are the first places to start. Keep us posted.
