Idle Noise

Does a 7.3 IDI idle louder than a 7.3 Power Stroke? My IDI idles louder than my neighbors Power stroke. Should I maybe look at getting the timing checked?

All of the IDIs that I have seen do idle a little louder than the PowerStrokes. But i mainly work with a 6.9 which idles louder than a 7.3L IDI.

Yeah, the 6.9s are quite a bit louder that the 7.3s but both the 6.9 and 7.3 are still quieter than say the first gen PSDs, the second gen are around the same, and the 6.0 is quieter. So if its ideling louder than say a '95 PSD, it should be checked.
