service engine light 99 expy
I just recently tackled the job of replacing the plugs in my 99 expy (FUN!!). A day after replacing them the service engine light came on. I disconnected the battery & it would stay off for a couple days but come back on. I have about 84K on it. Is there a way to jump the diagnostic connector like the good old days? If so where could I get a list of the codes? Oh one more thing, both before & after changing the plugs I get this intermitent hesitation or sputtering at take off.Any clue. Any help would be great, Thanks

My bet would be coilpack related....either split boots, damaged on removal/reinstallation or not reinstalled completely. You can have your code read by a OBDII scanner for free at Autozone.
Outside chance it could be some sort of vacuum leak too if you pulled/damaged any hoses during the plug change.

The egr valve is located on the top of the engine, just right of the throttle body if you're looking at the engine from the front. It is round....kinda looks like a flying saucer. Do a search of your code or insufficient flow and you'll surely find a wealth of info.
