89 bII questions.

I have an 89 BII xlt That is in beuatiful condition all around the truck. I have a few questions tho. The shock for the back hatch are shot. I kno everyone has told me to use a broom stick, but im a drummer and the stick might get knocked out and seriously injure me. HEHE where can i find a set of strong ones for cheap?
Now my drivers side mirror gives in to the wind at about 65 mph. is there ne way i can secure that or do i have to buy a new one?
Now to a mroe serious question. About to weeks ago while i was taking a trip to the music store i was waiting at a light. The light turned green and the car wouldnt move. It turneed out the engine turned off. Could this be sumtin serious?? I hasnt did it for two weeks

All your answer would be greatly apriciated.

Post 89 bII questions.

My rear hatch cylinders went south on my 90 B2 and I bought a pair at like Auto Zone for less than $30 ... pretty easy to put in if you have someone to hold the hatch up for you.

On the mirrors ... good luck! Mine were the small black stock things and started doing the "wind fold-in" trick about a year ago and I tried everything .. logical and NOT so logical (caulk around the base ... stuffed with cord to take up the slack ... super adhesive ... threatened to weld the suckers) and I never could get the danged things to behave. Just got worse. I'd buy new/used ones and save the trouble and aggravation .. heck, maybe someone else has figured a way to tighten the things.
