I have a 93 4wheel drive f150.it is stuck in low range.the switches in the dash are not lit up.I unhooked the battery for a while, when I hooked it back up the lights cam on,but didn't do anything.I turned the key off and back on and no lights.I have checked the fuses and unhooked the battery again but nothing.
You checked both the underhood and underdash fuse boxes? How long as it unplugged for. Did you try rocking the vehicle forward a bit then pressing a dif button..or back a bit?
You must know this...but..the truck is in neutral when you're trying to shift back out of 4x4 Low, right? 4x4 high will shift back and forth in gear, but 4x4 Low has to be in neutral. Don't know if you were maybe just goofing a bit...
No,not messing around.I was pulling some rocks.it was working fine.didnt notice a problem for while as dont drive this truck much.got in it the other day and took off and it was in low range, but the selector lights in dash werent lit up for 4x4 or low.I did check under hood and dash fuses.
If all else fails and you need to move the truck, you can pull the motor off of the transfer case and turn the shaft it's hooked to back to the 2wd position. The case is marked as to which position is where.
I Would Get A Hammer Or Wrench An Hit The Actuator Whil Pressing The Button To See If That Helps, Try It Once With Out Hitting It To See If You Can Hear It Working, If Not Working Check The Connections To The Actuator And Make Sure All Are Good And Then Hit The Actuator Not Real Hard Though Just Enough To Maybe Make The Contacts Conect To Make It Dissengage Or Pull The Actuator Off And Use A 3/4 Inch Drive Socket Wrench To Turn It Back To 2wd
