Drivers door keyless entry keypad

Does anyone know if the code, used for the keyless entry keypad on the drivers door, can be changed from the code set at the factory. I found in the owners manual where you can add another code that can be changed, but nothing about resetting or changing the original factory code. Please help it is very important that I get this code changed as soon as possible. Thanks

I just did mine yesterday. The instructions in the manual were spot on. Maybe look at it again. It took less that a minute to do. You have to enter the factory code and then press one of the buttons and then enter your code.

from what I've read you can not change the factory code it is part of the computer program. You can add your own but the factory code will always be the same

You can change the code but the factory setting will still override it.

The only way to change the factory code is to change out the module. Probably $200-$300 plus labor. There's no way to change a factory code within an existing module.

Thanks for the info. My service manager told me that it could be done, but would be expensive. Now I know why. I just wanted to see if anyone new a workaround. Oh well.

jbone108 and 1956MarkII are correct. I saw in the manual how to change the code and I did, but it does not erase the factory set code which still work. The factory code is always there. The manual refers to an addditional code that you can set and change for conveniance.

I added my own and the book is dead on as someone else said. You can not overwrite the factory code...it is sort of a default that will always be there in case you forget you code and need to get back in the system (ie reset a new password). It is a good feature for with all the passwords most of us have now a days I can not remember heads or tails some days...especially mondays...AHHHHHHHHH!!

2004 F150 Keyless Entry Pre-Programmed Code

Hi,
My husband locked his keys inside his truck this morning (Sun) and he does not have the pre-programmed keyless entry code. He is about 75 miles from home and the Ford dealers in our area and not opened yet so I cannot call someone to get the code. Can anyone help me with the pre-set code for a 2004 F150??? Thanks!

Can someone tell me how to disable my keyless entry without causing any other problems with the truck. I believe someone posted some pic of the module. If they could repost them I would appreciate it. I want to disable it so my son can't keep getting into my truck. Teenagers, ugh!

there isnt a universal code. if you keep all your manuals outside the truck then the codecard should be with the rest of the paperwork otherwise you will have to wait for ford to get your the number.

i hear that ford will 1 time change the code in a situation where your code is known by someone who wants to hurt you or damage your property. my wife's friend had to get a restraining order from her husband and the dealer changed her code for her. i dont know if its true or if its just something that our dealer done for her. you might be able to take out the fuse.
