I was just doing some research and I found out that Expeditions have the same transmissions as a F350 Diesel. Is this true?
How can Ford have the same transmission for both, being that they are two totally different vehicles? How can you call this a Superduty when you use the same parts from an SUV? This could explain the 4R100's high failure rate.
That should be the 4R70W 4-spd transmission in the Expedition. Now the Excursion on the other hand, it has the same driveline. Could also be the AOD-EW 4-spd.

Where do you get the 4R100 having a high failure rate? I have never heard of anything like that.
