Question E4OD has no computer? Trouble?

I have a 95 150, 5.0, E4OD, 2WD I bought recently for $100 from someone who gutted the EFI and replaced it with a 4bbl edelbrock and a mechanical advance MSD distributor system. He was trying to hook up Nitrous. It didn't run good because of 2 vacuum leaks. 1st leak was a disconnected master cylinder booster hose to the carb, the second was a manifold runner without a plug in it. I drove it locally for about 2 weeks after I fixed the leaks and got it running. Then I drove it from Chicago to Va and drove it locally for about 2 more weeks before 1st gear went out. I just had the tranny rebuilt for $600 and want to get some opinions about running it with the 4bbl set up. I have seen in this forum that these trannys are controlled by various components tied to the computer?
It runs fine and shifts pretty good. A little hard on the 2-1 or 1-2 once in a while but otherwise shifts and runs great. When I said the guy gutted the EFI, I mean he pulled the manifold and all. He also cut all the EFI related wiring harnesses at the body where the wires connect from the engine to the chassis.
I am concerned about whether or not the tranny still gets or needs computer inputs. If I drive it like this will I be ruining the tranny? Should it have a kick down cable? It runs smoothly all the wayy up to 80 mph. I haven't tried to go any faster. Thanks for your help.

No time right now or I'd post the link.

Go to Google, and search for "E4OD". You will pull up an outfit called Bauman, they make controls for trannies and I think they talk about installing the E4OD in non-computer cars.

More later.

I went to the Bauman web site. They do have a kit that i could use but it costs $450. Also, I believe the tranny is a 4R70W instead of a E4OD. The Bauman site said for my engine and model year that is what it would be. I am still wondering if it is ok to drive it as is without damaging it.

If there is no computer the E4OD will always be in 4th gear. It will never shift automatically.
