transmission noise

transmission noise
with about 4000 miles on the truck the transmission started to make a faint noise when shifting into 3rd gear and only 3rd gear. but was very inconsistent.
now i have 7700 miles and the noise is more of a klunk and can feel it in the floor boards some times yet still only in 3rd gear and still inconsistent. but it does not do it at all when i mash on the pedal only normal driving conditions. noticed it does it hot or cold (the the transmission).I dont want to take to the dealer and have the say we cant it to do it. has any body had or herd of this?

I do not understand this comment. Have you already had a bad experience with your dealer? If so, Have you taken your truck to another dealer? Are you having any other issues? Can you demonstrate this condition at anytime or is it intermittent?
BTW: Others will reply but, it may be driveshaft alignment or bearing related and not your transmission.
You are under warranty...IMO I would definitely get it to the dealer.

no its not that it all boyer trucks in south st.paul are great to deal with.
but i dont like to bring any vehicle in if i cant replicate the problem.
and if it was driveshaft alignment or bearing related wouldnt do it all the time

I've not experienced this in 34k+ miles nor heard of it....
In my case I guess I get past that point too quickly to notice
And if I had an issue, I would certainly want to get it "on the books" at the dealer in case it becaomes an issue later

i talked to the service manager at boyer south and he said there is a bulletin
on the problem that i have it says the noise is normal. which i find it hard to be true. there is another thread were others are have the same problem
(thump between 2nd and 3rd gear) .

I have commented on the 'Clunk' between 2-3 upshift in many posts.. There is a Ford Broadcast Number 1335 in regards to the Clunk/Pop at 2-3 when pulling from a stop.. They (Ford) say its a 'normal' condition for the Torqueshift, but doesn't explain the clunk between 2-3, but I believe there related.. Mine will clunk 'maybe' twice on a 'moderate/hard' accelleration and then is gone when warm.. Sometimes 'pretty' loud and felt through the floor as you stated.. Sound familiar?? Or, 'may' even do it again after a short 'sit' time.. I also have a bit of more of a flare between the 2-3 upshift than the other gears.. YOU ARE NOT alone, as many have commented about the/this condition.. It took a few trips to Ford just to get them to varify the low speed noise/pop, ( I supplied the Broadcast information!) and mine will be going in for the battery ground recall soon, and I'm going to have them leave it outside, and 'wait' for me to drive it for them to duplicate the problem..
I got tired of the 'Normal' issues, and have had 'them' as well as almost all the others.. I've driven about a dozen 04-05's and NONE of them have clunked at any speed! I decided to let mine go for an 05, but want them to ID/document everything anyway.. I could potentially hurt my sale..
This 'IS' a supported complaint..
