Why is everyone wanting to know build date? Does that mean my newly purchased 2004 F150 may be one to have all of the back end problems? Please tell me no no no no !!!!!
I certainly HOPE that's what they're looking for, what Foxtrot said. I've always preached that you should avoid vehicles that have been around too long, as they're nothing but trouble: dried-out seals and gaskets, electrical gremlins, lot damage, etc..
Mfgs make changes to their products, sometimes while they are on the asmb line. Thats why you may be asked for a "build date" to get the correct replacement parts. And Tom No No No.
