So what is the better of the tunners / chips to install in my o4 4.6 liter SCREW? The Predator, Superchip, or Hypertech.

I hear that a stock 2x4 04 screw lariat does 0-60 in about 8.6 seconds. With these new tunes, how much better does the 0-60 get? 87 oct tune, 91-93hi-oct tune? Are you as fast or faster than a 5.3 selverado 4dr or ext cab? Titan or Hemi Ram? Just questions i'd likle to know. For you guys that been saying your milage went down, was that from the computer reading or at the pump? Could it have been you were just stepping i it a bit too much cause of the new found power? Thanks!

Read the numerous threads on this site about them, and this multi-page thread in particular. There are details galore provided.

After much hassle (see previous posts) I put the 87 octance tune in and got 12.9 mpg on the first tankfull. Still driving 3/4 highway as always. I then filled with premium and loaded the high performance tune since this is the tune that seems to work the best for everyone. The first 200 miles I got only 11.1 mpg and no noticable performance increase. I put the stock tune back in and got 12.7 mpg. Took the truck into Ford and had them load the latest Ford tune and do some diagnostics. They said everything looked OK. They said their computer (don't know exactly what they used) showed that the truck was getting 17.5 to 18 on the highway. Don't know how they got that as I can't even approach 15 mpg anymore. Since then I have put 447 miles on and gotten 13.3 mpg. Heres the dilema: the truck got much worse gas mileage with the Predator tunes, and now it appears to be screwed up permanantly even with the stock tune. Now what?
cderonde, Sorry to hear about all of the headaches the Predator gave you. I'll hold to that old saying; "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I tweak desktop computers all the time and often find that even two identical systems will re-act differently. I assume car computers are no different. I was thinking about purchasing one of these turners until I read about their unpredictability. I’ll just go the old tried and true way of hot roding my F150 scab, i.e.; exhaust system, headers, etc… and pay the dealer to fine tune that black box.

Question Any price break for FTE supporters?

I was emailed a price by Motorhaven for the DiabloSport Predator by an auto-responder and was wondering if FTE supporters get an addition reduction or does everyone pay the same price? Thanks.
