What are the odds, that about right then with the speedo and tach. That bling gauge fits you perfect, now just need to find a way to hook it up to a decibe meter or something so the louder your truck the more bling you have, or something of the like.
it's been awhile since i checked this thread, that's gonna look pretty cool, i definately like it. maybe since you know how to do it already you could sell something similar and make some cash off the idea. i wander what my mom would have to say if i started hacking up cupboard doors around here, i dont think i want to find out though.
Safer? After seeing the pictures Fishy posted of those wrecks I'm just going to pray to god I burn alive in my truck when I wreck it. I'm going to use a mechanical guage with an isolator. It was about $70 less to do that plus it's a lot simpler setup then the electric. I put that and a vacuum guage on my order but I've got to wait for an exchange on the flares so it could be a couple weeks before I see them. I'm thinking this will be all complete and installed at the end of the month now.
I really wanted a 120MPH speedo but they didn't make them in the 5". It was either 160 or 200. I could have bought a 3 3/8 speedo but that would screw up the balance here. This one is electronic so I can calibrate it with a button any time I switch tires or gears. I don't have to change out the speedo drive gear.
Including what I paid for paint (and what I paid the painter) I'd estimate I've got about $200 into the dash. That's not counting the guages of course which I'll total up this morning. I don't really need all the guages I'll have there but they look cool and I can't walk away from the bling. I've got a special adhesion promoter and vinyl paint for the dash pad. I did end up trimming a little more off the pad than I wanted but I think it will look fine. I'm going to paint it "buckskin" to match the leather seats I've got and the center console too.
Shysters! I've got $870 into guages now. Autometer loves me. I ordered some switches the other day for my compressor and other misc. junk so I'll have to see how they look in there. I punched the holes for the 2" guages in the Lexan and they look great. I'm waiting to get a new hole saw before I attack the holes for the 5" guages. I think I'll pick up some blinkers tonight too.
i've gotta get into whatever Ivan does for cash! it's gotta be slinging dope or something illegal...that's insane! you better hope those gauges last longer than your truck.
As I recall that steak kicked your butt Pro! When I'm down this weekend remind me to tell you the story about what I USED to do for cash. You'll get a kick out of that one.
Yes, $870 for all the guages, including the isolator for the fuel pressure guage. Summit has the electric fuel pressure guages for $195 with the sender. I spent $36 on the guage and $95 on the isolator . . . cheaper and more reliable. Looks like I'll have about $100-$150 in switches to be all blinged out. I just picked up a new hole saw and LED's for my blinkers. If I get a couple minutes tonight I'll pop it all in and snap a picture.
Couldn't resist hacking into it tonight so here we go, all I need now is to drill my holes for mounting it to the dash and then I'm ready to finish the guage panel. I installed LED's for turn signals as well as one for a high beam indicator. The little white spot below the high beam indicator is a warning light that will come on whenever my fans are turned off so I don't forget to switch them back on again. I've had that happen before and it's not pretty. I'm thinking I may use the stock light switch and mount it in the lower left corner by the guages. Still undecided as to the wiper control.
