Body Panels (sheet metal)
The question I have is this: The rear fenders are badly rusted on both sides due to too many years in South Dakota. Do I look for a replacement box or see if I can have this one re-skinned?
Thanks for the help!
Tim
It cost me about $600 for both the bedsides for my '73 longbed - not to mention the 2 days of labor swapping them. The rest of my box was in great shape, no rust and few dents. I wish I'd looked for a solid box and saved the hassle - but I sure like it, now that it's done.
Where in South Dakota are you?

I'm now in Oklahoma, near Tulsa. I plan to have my nephew haul it down here real soon. The 460 needs new head gaskets so it'll be on a trailer for the trip. The truck is still on the family farm south of Sioux Falls...near Viborg.
I just can't wait to get this truck fixed up again.
Later,
Tim

Easy swap if you can . If you buy panels make sure they are not off shore junk as they are scrap and do not fit right and usually need serious prep work with high solids and blocking etc. to even get a decent coat of paint on them .
Good to see you keep Dad's Ford . That's where my restored "78 4X4 will go when I'm history as well . Good Luck Sport :
