I have a 85 f150 with 300 manual 4spd. The truck runs ok but the wiring under the hood is all messed up. The guy that had the truck before I got it (which I got it from a towing garge that tow's for the local police, so the truck was impounded so I don't know who the owner was) any way the guy unpluged alot of the wires and I don't know were they go and some are just melted from touching the motor. I want to replace all the wires under the hood or just the one's that need to be replaced. The problem is that I called a Ford Dealership and they said Ford doesn't make wiring harnesses for that year any more, I was wondering were I could get some from, does painless sell any for this year truck if not what year wiring would work. Any info on the matter?

might try a junk yard
here in tennessee the junkyards are full of old f series trucks mostly wrecked with complete motors and what not
might be able to get the whole engine harness from there
i got the tail light harness from the junkyard because mine was hacked into for trailer wiring the wrong way so i fixed it
