tranny Questions
what is the name of the 5 speed that every body puts in their trucks with a 6.9? I believe i have the c6. would my truck have the setup for a clutch petal?
also will a trans from the gas ford engines fit a 6.9 diesel? Need help, thanks.

ZF 5S42. No, your truck won`t have the clutch pedal setup although it can be installed fairly easily. No, the ZF 5-speed for a gas will not fit a diesel or vice-versa. Your best bet is to find a donor truck with all of the parts needed. It will be cheaper in the long run and the swap will be much easier. Post the specifics of your truck and you will get more help.

it is a 1986 F250 2x4 w/ a 6.9 Diesel. It has a c6 trans in it i'm not sure what more info you would need. If possible i would like to get the Zf 5 and i would need a clutch set up. I would also like to convert it to a 4x4. any suggestions would be appreciated. The parts would have to be in the midwest. I would prefer a whole rig instead of misc. parts but i would settle for either.
