I work for this company and over the past 2 years have lost almost 8% of my pay do to increased cost of health care, no raises,$25 long distance credit and no more free coffee. I am however happy to have a job! But what I would like to know is how many folks have been doing the corperation down hill ride. I keep hearing how things are getting better but we in the telco industrie are not seeing it. Just wondering how this is effecting the rest of ya'll.

The telco industry is seeing the effects of competion. Smaller, nibbler players enter the field, driving down costs and squeezing margins. Don't feel bad, I took a 2/3rd's pay cut but making FTE my full time occupation... its why I feel unbashed asking people to join Club FTE! :-)

Having spent the last 7 years at WilTel+LDDS->LDDS WorldCom->MFS WorldCom->UUNet/WorldCom->MCIWorldCom->MCI and WorldCom (now separate again), I've seen a lot of things that may have contributed to the fall of the telecom industry. It is my opinion that they are the victims of their own actions more than those of the competition.
