I use rotella oil, change every 5,000 miles, and use fuel additive about every 10,000 (more in winter). I think the truck will be done Monday??? Tuesday will be 2 weeks. I don't think the oil had anything to do with the problem, I think it might have been too much heat. Does anyone know what else would leave small pits on the heads and block just above and below the cylinders?

I assume you're referring to the 6.0 Bible (not the warranty pages that the link went to)? Yeah, I scanned all that in, and it's definitely a popular destination for Ford owners, I get thousands of hits. There are also people that scammed all the images from my site and burned them to a CD and sell them on ebay, even though they're still freely available for all (which was the point.) Gotta love the opportunists.

You scanned it in? Why Ford makes it available in .pdf. (Acrobat Reader for the non-geeks).

'Cause I can never find that link on the Ford site when I need it, and it's a much bigger file (being the whole manual.) I just wanted the handful of pages for all the people that keep saying "the turbo's not covered for 100K" or "my salesman said the transmission had a 100K warranty."

I scanned in the 6.0 Bible because Ford wouldn't make it available in paper or electronic format to all the knowledge-hungry early 6.0 owners, and it had no copyright notice on it. (Yes, I know, there's an implied copyright, and I've always offered to take the page down the minute anyone from Ford or International complains.)

Casting flaws and excessive porosity. This is more common in aluminum than iron.

Picked up truck today. Drove great all the way home. Went into town later and truck started missing, I think an injector is bad or maybe came unplugged. Taking it back tomorrow.

dealer put injector in new motor, hmmm. hopefully no more problems. truck runs great now. service manager said warranty claim was over $16,000, 12,000 for motor, sounds kinda high but that's what he said.
