I've found a good deal on a Flowmaster 40 Delta Flow in stainless steel. It would replace the "RedHot" glasspack on my Cherokee I-6. The question is, what about the sound level of the Delta Flow compared to the regular FM 40? Is the Delta Flow very much quieter? I've heard a lot about the drone at highway speeds with the Flowmasters, and don't want to spend the money on something I can't live with.
OK hsfbFan, thanks. I don't care how loud it is outside, as long as it's quiet in the cab. The glasspack I have on it now is too loud inside for my taste, although it does sound good at idle and upon accelleration.
be aware of stainless flowmasters! tere stainless is the crappiest of grades by this i mean to say highly magnetic and they come painted.i spoke to a flowmaster rep who was dumb as a stump.said they painted them so welds would not rust because theres no such thing as stainless weld.WRONG!!!!!other than that i like the sound regards shovelhead

Well, I didn't get the SS Flowmaster, and instead went with a MAC Flowpath for the Jeep. I highly recommend the MACs. They are supposed to flow better than the FMs, and have a very unique tone to them. I've had several different mufflers on this Jeep, and am going to stick with the MAC. It sounds the best, and it seems to give the best throttle response.
