A few months ago I had a complete passenger side tie-rod separation, and ever since it was fixed, it seems that the height of my truck has lowered - maybe 1-2 inches. The dealership states that it is the correct height and that the shocks are fine - but I know myself that the truck has lowered somewhat. I don't have air-suspension or load-levelling or anything that might contribute to this problem.
I was just wondering if anyone knew the correct height of the vehicle, and would also like to ask that if anyone has the 2000 - could they please measure the height from the bottom of the drivers side running board to the ground. At least this will give me something to go on.
Is your's 2wd or 4wd? I'll try to measure my 4x4 for ya, but I have night school tonight. In the mean time, you may want to get a hold of the factory specs. My uncle (ex- body shop guy) bought a Ranger 4x4 new and had to take it back multiple times over ride height issues. The dealer insisted they fixed it but he knew it wasn't right. He pulled the truck onto the shop floor and measured to some point on the frame and showed them how out of spec it was and that they had lied to him. It was quickly fixed after that!
