The "A" build 2004s had the reverse fold down mirrors (which I have). Now they don't have themon the later build. I don't know what else changed.

My early build 2004 has the dirty brake pads ( I use Kleen Wheel Shields) A noisy muffler (They replaced) and an intermittent thump from the sub-woofer speaker( they replaced the amp) but it's coming back again.

So far 19k miles.

My 2000 had absolutely nothing wrong in 76000 miles.

I also had no problems with my 2000. My new 04 has the infamous rear end whine at 60mph plus. Do you think the new Expedition has a rougher highway ride than your 2000? Mine handles like a dream, but rides much "choppier".

When did they change to the new body style? '03? The older style Expy's have/had their problems but it seems with this new style and all of the new drive-train components, there are a ton of bugs that need to be worked out. Anyways, it looks to me like the older style Expy is actually bigger than the newer. Plus, I can't believe how much the new ones cost! Good grief!

03-04 are the second generation Expy. They lowered over all height and they widened the wheelbase for the 2nd generation. This is why it appears the 1st generation Expy is bigger, because it is actually taller (top heavy).

If you go to Yahoo and search under AUTOS. They have a REVIEWS option. You can get a lot of reviews from major sources on any vehicle you want.

I've got an 03 EB 4x4. I don't know the exact build date, but I think it is somewhere in mid summer 03. I bought it on Labor Day 03. I have not had any of the problems mentioned so far, except the brake dust issue, but it still only has about 8000 miles on it. Has a couple of minor rattles, but so far so good. Rides nice on the freeway, and tows pretty good as well.
