The dealer is replacing my trans, I mentined with the warranty being up I wanted to beef up the trans starting with a better T/C. They said if I could get one there before the new trans arrives they would put it in for me. Any suggestions. The Bully Dog and Triplelok are both really nice but just way to expensive. I was checking out the Factory Tech T/C, decently priced. Maybe match it with there shift kit or a Transgo? Lets here the feed back! God I love this site!

BD makes a good one/ Suncoast is good..Perscision Performance is another..ATS but too much$$$$$......Greg at the Dieselsite makes one but I heard they were having a little trouble fitting them on the 4r100??? You can get a BD for $699 if you know where to look...I would go with Dieselsite or BD...Good luck!!!!
Several people have been known to use a stock 5r110 converter from the new 6.0's. They are stronger and better built than the 7.3 units. the Only potential problem is the backspacing. Sometimes it works just fine, other times you need a spcaer plate. Just an idea
I noticed that at the Factory tech site. They offer the 5R110 in a 4R100 housing and a 95K stall speed, I'll cut and paste it in
3rd Option: 5R110W 95K stall speed impeller (slightly lower than stock) in a 4R100 billet cover with all roller surfaces except the top of the turbine, which has a phenolic washer. Retail $950.00** These are guarranteed to fit in any 4R100 or 5R110 application. A new cover is made to insure a perfect fit.
Phenolic = plastic. Heat and plastic are not very good friends. Not trying to be the party pooper here but if I were getting a HD TC I would insist on all metal parts.
What I did to replace my T/C was asked around my local trans shops and my buddies at work (I work at a Concept Car Fabrication Place in Detroit). I got a number for a guy that builds trans's all day long for the 7.3 to spray propain and dragrace and stuff.. And he cut me a deal for 300 bucks. I've got 3 guys at work that have the one that I'm getting and said they have beat the hell out of their trucks and the T/C is working great for them. Dont' always think you have to pay for the name with everything. Yes some stuff is great, but sometimes you can find a great deal hidding close to home.
