I changed lanes to pass a Toyota Prius that was doing 25 in a 55 and coolant started to spew out from under the hood. Good thing I was less than a mile from home when it happened, the coolant overflow tank is bone dry. Coolant covered the pass. side of my truck, I can only imagine what havoc it reaped on my paint before I rinsed it off. I guess my truck got jealous of the Toyota's gas mileage and spit up on it's self.
Hose looks easy enough to replace, one clamp on the engine side, and a 'push 'n' pull' connector on the heater core side, right y'all??
I guess it's good that it happened, I needed to change my coolant anyways!
The hose that blew. . .is it the same hose that is used in the A/C Heater Core shutoff mod??
When I do the coolant flush, should I crack open the block plugs too?? I've spent about 2 hours scouring my factory manual CD, and the internet looking for the location or details on the block plugs, but I've come up with nothing.
Anyone mind running through the highlights of doing a coolant flush??
