MInes not too far custom, but i just took the stock one and carpeted it with that cheap carpeting like people can use for speaker boxes, changed the whole look of the interior to me, but no one else seems to notice, go figure. Looks 10 fold better than stock too.
Mine was pretty much trashed. What I did was buy a sheet of white masonite from Home Depot and then use the old headliner as a template to cut out the new one. You can also use paneling for a woodgrain finish. The advantage to using the white masonite is that I can write on it with the erasable markers and just wipe it off when I no longer need the message. A built in note pad. You may have to make the front to back depth just a little bit shorter as the masonite or paneling isn't quite as flexible as the original headliner. I had to cut mine down about 1/4" which I did after test fitting it.
