Forced induction will be your biggest hp and tq gain from a single add on. The kit you select, I would think, will come with a program that modifies the trannies shifting characteristics to limit drivetrain loss. Check around, specifically the supercharger section of this site and see if there is a common company others are having a positive experience with.
I definitely agree with that. Get a blower, but just get a small one. I have a powerdyne 6 psi blower on my v10 superduty. I love it, and I can controll it. I don't do uncontrollable burnouts if I don't want to. You won't really find a blower for that specific truck that won't allow your tires to hook up anyhow. I definitely say get the blower. You might just end up needeing a little more meat in the back, but not too much, you want to avoid wheel hop. Good Luck!
Sticky tires and traction bars will cure your wheel hop problem and save your rearend from detonating.
I run a Vortech and 13+ psi and the Rancho torque arm traction bars keep the rear end in check...even when I'm running on slicks!
Yes, definitely do it. There is a whole borage of aftermarket equiptment that will help you to your future goal. Just be careful, it can be expensive. I would advise however, to map out what you want to do, and get some opinions from the people on this forum. We won't let you down, and you will probably save a lot of money by avoiding mistakes with poor combos..

I will depend heavily on this forum. I guess I'm just tentative because I could wait a few years before I dive into transfroming this truck and wait till I get a 5.4L then I can start my project with an extra 30 horses. I literally looked all over the state for the truck i have now. Its really hard to find a single cab 5.4L thats also a sport with the flareside. along with all the performance parts I will also be adding headlamps taillights and exhaust system, ground effects, window tinting, tires, rims, lowering kit (possibly putting it up on bags) custom gauges, etc etc etc. I mean. I'm guessing i should just enjoy this truck and start out with a lightning, or find a 5.4L
Whats the maximum HP you think I could get from this truck? cost not being an option.
I have of course considered forced induction, but I'm not sure what a turbo kit is. I'm going to assume its a turbo charger with other things in it to maximize the use of the turbo charger itself.
Yeah, I know you've considered forced induction, the thread is about using a supercharger.
The popularity has gone way up, as far as the use of turbochargers, do a search. Whether it's turbo or supercharger, find a kit you like and look at the manufactureres claims, then do another search for those who've installed the same kit, see if they mesh.
In a perfect world the 5.4 would be ideal, but wouldn't you rather hand someone their butt with the 4.6?

Well right now I'm leaning towards a supercharger because I know more about them, and I've seen more of them.
You can order just about any kit and they come with everything: FMU, inline pump, tubes, hoses, brackets, hardware, etc... The only other thing I think you will have to buy on your own is some type of timing retard. Unless of course you plan on having it professionally tuned.
Some other components that will help is a set of traction bars, shift kit or valve body, headers and better flowing exhaust (not to be mistaken for open exhaust). The traction bars are a must. They will eliminate wheel hop and keep the axle from binding so you won't destroy your rear end.
