I read the stuff up top ("more power..."), there was somethin about 2.5" exhaust. Well, can this be bought, or do I have to piece it together (like, half of a V8 system maybe)? If it can be bought, then where?
I havent even bought the truck yet, but I'm guessing what I do buy will need a little work, and I wont be able to tear the whole thing down until it stops snowing (not that its started yet, but not enough time to do it from now until it does). So I'm just checkin my options.
Ford 6 EFI manifolds and headers both have dual outputs, but there's a Y pipe. But inline engines don't have the dyamics of a bent engine, so you won't get the classic dual exhaust sound.
Personally I've always liked small dual glasspacks exiting just after the cab on a V8 truck. But to each thier own.
On 80-96 trucks, the exhaust kits are interchangeable. The 300 and 302 both had 2.25" cat outlets, and a 351 had a 2.5" cat outlet. But all the exhausts bolt up the same.
i went to a local shop and got a nice exhaust system done up for about 150 from the motor back to a flowmaster single in dual out muffler then 2.25" dual pipes down the frame rails. Sounds good too, nice rumble at idle and a hell of a pop at 3800+ rpms.
