1/2 ton Solid Front Axles?

1/2 ton Solid Front Axles?
What year did they stop using solid front axles on 1/2 ton 4x4 F-150s? Also, would it be difficult to install one on a 96 F-150 to get rid of the pesky to align Twin Traction beam with a measly 2 inch lift? If I could get one with a 3.55 ratio, I'd be eager to begin the swap. Besides, it'd be beefier than TTB anyway. Oh, and don't forget, manlier too. Gotta have that manliness.

I have a 1984 Olds 98. If I want cushy, I'll drive it instead. Besides, this truck is alot of things, cushy is not one of them anyway. But I'm glad that I can find something in a 1980, lots available in the junkyard near me. Thanks.
