Pinion leak??

I changed my 9" Ford pinion yoke to a 1350 sized u joint due to harsh use (drag racing). The pinion seal is not leaking. It is leaking from the internal splines out around the pinion nut. Did I do something wrong? Some have told me I should have put a little high temp RTV on the end of the splines to stop anything from leaking out. There was no washer or collar of any type on the original yoke when I removed it and it was not leaking before I replaced the yoke. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Oh No!

The pinion nut also sets the preload on your gear set. You will need to remove the whole carrier and check the tolerances. If you do not, you can ruin your pinion and ring gear, quickly.
