have seen them Where are thry coming from? The dealer says that Ford dosnt offer them Why dosnt Ford make a 4 wheel drive Econoline? I hate the thoughts of having to buy another Chevy but really need the 4 wheel drive
Go back to the Ford dealer - or go to another Ford dealer that is more willing to spend some time with you - and tell them you want an econline (150/250/350 name your poison) and tell them that you want it sent to Quigley and converted to 4wheel drive.
If they won't help you - contact Quigley directly:
thanks for the link. This just proves it can be done by Ford themselves Cause almost 9K is alot of money considering 4 wheel drive is like a 3 k option on a pick up truck
E-350 Cargo van GAS engine with 3.73 gear ratio. Ford, 5200lb front drive axle.............................8895.00
Cargo capacity reduced by 390 lbs, 317 front & 73 rear.
Why dosnt Ford do it themsleves?
there's a newer ford van about a mile or so from where i live thats 4wd, think is a 3/4 ton by the looks of the axles. if i could afford it, i would go that route. you can tow/haul like with a truck, but with cheaper passenger car tags, and have the 4wd traction available for winter. ( and empty vans and snow are not a fun combination.)
I just bought this '96 Quigley 150. It only has a 4.9 but it gets the job done. Van gets lots of looks for a work vehicle, now with a set of flares, some nice wheels and tires and maybe a nice front bumper with a winch... who cares if it's a six!
Up here in B.C. they are fairly common; most of the snowmobile, ATV, and other guiding operations use them. Plus most ski hills and logging or mining operations have a few around, my father used to have 2wd vans converted by the Dana rep in Vancouver for the logging companies.
