tranny shifting wrong

tranny shifting late, too much fluid?
Hi, I have a 1996 F-150 with a 5.0. I changed the transmission filter and fluid, now it's shifting late. Could this be due to too much fluid added? The dipstick reads about a quarter inch over the "zone" after about 5 minutes of driving. If so, how can I drain some out? It's a E4OD I believe.

Thanks for the .02. I took off the plenum and cleaned it out yesterday along with IAC motor. I found a small vaccuum end cap lying on the intake manifold. The check engine light is on and the transmission is acting up, shifting wrong. I checked all over for a vaccuum leak but found none. Please throw in some more cents. Ken

Turns out it was the TPS, I did not have it positioned correctly. On my 1996 302 FI, the TPS has to be turned toward the IAC motor and then rotated counter-clockwise into position. Thanks.
