any good water injection kits out there for turbo and non-turbo 6.9L, also if anyone has one how well do they like it? What kinda gains and losses did you get, what other mods do you have also installed? fuel mileage?
Don't know about turbo 6.9l, but there would be no point putting it on a non turbo engine, it will only smother the engine.
The only benefit of water injection is that it lowers the intake temperature, and therefore get more power, when you are running high boost.
As for gains and losses, it really depends on how you tune the engine.
There is a really good thread going on in the 6.0l forum that you should check out: http://www.fordtrucks.com/forums/sho...ter+injection+
Ats performance makes a water/methanol injection kit. You would have to put on a turbo to use it though. For this serious mod you would need about 3or4 grand in loose change. The only other benefit from the water/methanol besides lower temps is the methanol helps create more pressure in the chamber without dumping as much diesel fuel. You have to have enough fuel to burn without smothering it with the water injection. This is a high power mod that many open class semi pullers use in competitions.
