mpg 92 2.3
i just got a 92 ranger 2wd 2.3l 5spd and was wondering what other 2.3 owners were getting for gas mileage i got 20mpg on the first tank of gas i ran through it. is that good or should i expect more later because it was sitting for 4 months with a half tank of gas so the tank had good and bad gas in it

My personal 90 Ranger 4-cyl averaged 25 mpg over the last 100k miles. Our fleet of Ranger 4-cyl automatics average 23 - all urban usage. My recently acquired 1993 4.0 automatic 2wd is averaging 15.5.

25-26mpg seems to be a realistic number depending on the transmission/rear end/cab configuration. My S/C 95 5 speed w/3.73 rear gets about 25mpg. It may bump up a tad after I replace the factory O2 sensor that has only 133,000 miles on it.
