Transmission & Transfer case ?
Hello all, I recently came across a 1976 f100 4x4. It is in decent shape with minimal floor pan rust on the passenger side (one dime size hole). It has a newly rebuilt, balanced 390 (talked to the shop that did it to be sure I was not being let on). The original owner sold it to me for next to nothing (less than $1000). I figured the engine was worth at least that much. It runs great but needs a little brake work and minor things here and there. It has an NP435 tranny and about all I can read on the tcase tag is model 21. I am assuming this is a Dana 21. Am I correct in this assumption? The tcase shift stick only says 2wd or 4wd with an arrow pointing foward and rearward. It moves freely foward and backward about 2 inches and stops. I dont know if it's in gear or not. It does not have manual locking hubs on the front. Is this standard for this year model? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.
