Angry fuel in oil ???

I just got home from a 350 mile run towing 12k trailer and checked my oil and it was about 1 quart over full. Before the trip I had just serviced it and all was OK. The Truck is a 97 4x4 with 235k miles on it and I have only owned it since this last Dec. so I don't have any history on it. The only thing I can think of that would have caused the over fill of oil is the diesel in the oil.
Any suggestions as to what would cause this condition.
Thanks
Glen

It could be fuel. It could be "foamy oil".

Leaking injector seals can put fuel into the oil.
Air getting sucked through an oil pump can cause foaming. (like a loose pickup tube)You will still have the same amount of oil but a billion little bubbles in it make the level rise because each bubble is displacing the oil.
Oil analysis could probably identify fuel in the oil if that's what it is.

Thanks for the reply bodabdan,
I thought of that because I had a gasser do that foaming thing once and it had water in the oil. After I found the over filled oil I let it set for a couple of days and I got a sample off the dip stick and put it on a piece of paper towel then an equel amount of new oil as well and the oil out of the engine made a spot almost three time the size as the other one. That tells me that the thick ness of the oil has been thined. So you are probely right about the 0 rings because I don't think this think has had the valve covers off it since new.
