351w idle

i just replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 351w in my 1989 f150. to access the passenger side VC i had to remove the upper intake body. after putting it all back together...i'm not sure but i think it might of idles higher than b4. Now this truck is new to me..i have not been able to drive it at all because of the few small thing i need to fix 1st. is there a way to tell or set or adjust the idle? when it started up..it idled kinda high..then you could hear it come down. i'm just not sure if it is down to the correct idle. no tach either.

Check around for vaccum leaks and anything that may look loose... Make sure all the plugs are in the right places (Idle Air Control Valve is one I'd check)... That's the canister thing hanging on the right side of your throttle body with the little pop off valve thingie...

Good luck!
