Hey guys, just picked up two cherry bomb glasspacked mufflers from Canadian Tire. Anyways, they're 29 and a half inches long, is this the longest they make? I 'm definitely looking for less of a chattery noise from them, so from what i hear the longer the better for that, and that its more of a deep tone. I'm having my headers put on at the same time as getting this CB's put on, so i figure it should sound a little better with the headers then simple the strait cherry bomb duals. so is this the longest? Either way you can't beat 30 dollars canadian each, with tax. I'll run these till I either get sick of them, or come up with the money for some better mufflers.
Guess that ill know you who you are now when I hear the Ricer sound on steroids coming down Union St!!
Just kidding, I hope they work out for you buddy.
Is that the overall length? You usually describe glasspacks by the case length, which I'm guessing is 24 inches in your case. You can usually find 30 or 32" glasspacks, and yeah, the longer they are, the quieter.
well i got cherry bomb's in a box, i am in Canada, but anyways, they say that they're 29 and a half inches, with two and a half in and outs.............should i try to get longer ones to its less crackly, cause the less crackly the better for me..........
Yup, got the same ones on a 460, the only complaint is that they make it sound like a v6 while at idle and at 1500 rpm (like fast idling it to boost a diesel) I think it has to do with the 2.25" perftube they have. I'm looking at magnaflow's design of a glasspack (magnapack) same packing as the other magnaflows.
I don't think there are any longer cherry bombs made, check with Midas, ask for bluebottles, they come in 40" lenghts I think but are a bit more expensive. Oh, they aren't called bluebottles anymore, but they should know what you mean.
should yea, the bluebottles are called silver knights or silver bullets or somthing now but the same design as they always were. They is some of the best, or so I'm told.
I just put a cherry bomb on my '80 351M and it is not chattery at all! It has a nice mellow tone at idle with a nice rumble on accel. and slight burble on decel. It would sound better with duals like what you're gettin done, but hedders should make it a bit more crackly but not much. It'll sound good for $30 a piece!
I've got the same 29.5" duel cherry bombs on my 390, headers, straight duels exiting in front of the rear tires on my shortbox. Sounds great, really old school. It really barks on start up, then idles nice and mellow, but when I'm drivin and I floor it and the 4bbl opens, man are they loud! Over all good sound. I paid $23ea last year.
