Unhappy Oil Leak!!!!!!

I believe I have a rear main seal leaking in my 1995 F-150 (302 V8) the oil is dripping from the front of the transmission. It is definetly oil and not trans fluid. My question is how much should this repair cost me? I have been told by one mechanic that the trans needs to come out and he said to expect about$225 for labor. Also I have a coolant leak coming from the passages behind the timing chain cover. I was wondering if I should have the timing chain replaced while the cover is off. My truck has 78,500 well maintained miles on it. I plan on keeping for at least 5 more years. I do plan on replacing the water pump when I get the coolant leak fixed. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated........

If they only charge you 225 for labor, you're doing good! Considering labor is usually $65 an hour for non-dealer/make specific mechanics.... The transmission DOES have to come out, the clutch assy removed (or driveplate for those unfortunate Auto owners), then the fly wheel removed. Sounds like fun, no?

That seems like a good price for labor. i would go ahed and change the timing chain while the front is all torn apart.
