Please Recommend Transmission Rebuild Shops In SoFla
I finally got the F150 to my work place today. The teacher and I both agree that it sounds like bearings have failed in the transmission. They should have it off the truck sometime early next week. I do not think they have the presses needed to rebuild this transmission. I am fairly certain this M5OD is going to need to be rebuilt. Come someone please recommend reliable transmissions shops in the Miami area? South end is best for me. For the record the transmission is a manual 5 speed.

for Automatics, I have had Very Good results with "WIWI Transmissions" But I'm not sure if they Do Manuals (Which I believe you have).
Depending on cost, you also might want to take a drive to U-pick
I took them a corolla a few years back for a $700 rebuild. they called me about an hour later and told me to come pickup the car. They told me it turned out to be just a bad solenoid and that they replaced it and all I owed them was $$75.00. They could have easily taken me for the whole 700, but they were honest.
I can't remember what year your truck is, but last time I went to U-pick, there were a few 80-90 range trucks with Manual Trannnies.

Thanks to both for the tips. I am still open to suggestions of places to go to get my transmission rebuilt. David, you are the second person to mention WiWi to me. My Department Chairperson cannot say enough about them and I think they are not that far from my workplace. I am curious what U-Pick you have been using? I have been thinking I might call around to junk yards to see if any have pre-pulled transmissions as I suspect that might be a cheaper way to go in the long run. For the record I have a manual transmission (M5OD) in a 1994 F150 2x4. Thanks for all the help and any more suggestions.
I normally frequent "U-Pick" on Nw 74th St Just West of the Palmetto (826). They have a pretty big selection of trucks, but they get scavanged pretty quick. You have to get lucky and catch one right after it arrives. Best time to "get lucky" is during the week (Wednesday through Friday). That way any trucks that got there during the week are fairly untouched before the weekend "rush"
The other place is "bob's U-pick" on South river Drive (also west of 826) They have a smaller selection, but they are not as busy, so the trucks last longer before they are down to the frame.
Edit : I just re-read my post above and realized I got my thoughts crossed as I was typing. In case it was not clear, the place that was going to rebuild the tranny was WIWI, NOT U-pick.
