Excursion Trans problem

I have a 2001 Excusion V10 with 60,000mile. When driving on a long trip the trans will start shifting hard, and once the over drive light started to plink. I turned the engine off and it went away. Now the trans when shifting into drive after starting it up after sitting it will struggle to engage as if the parking brake is on. can anyone help. I own a repair shop therefore I should be able to do most fixes. Even Valve body related. Or is this something Ford is covering?
