C-6 Screen change.

How many quarts will I have to typically add to a C-6 after changing the screen?

It is rare for the screen to actually pick up anything to make it worth changing. It will be more beneficial to change the oil--all of it. That requires draining the torque converter also. Expect to purchase a full case and have 2-3 quarts left as spares.

If you were to change just what came from the pan, I would guess about 6 quarts.

I wasn't so much changing the screen as just putting in a new pan gasket. I've been having problems with leaks lately.

According the the manual the tranny takes 12.75 quarts and needs 3 quarts after dropping the screen. I went and dug up my manual when I didn't get an answer. You may want to take it easy on the guessing. In my experience, it doesn't really help on message boards like this.

But thanks.
