Bought 04 Expedition last week. Been in twice for water spots and poor quality get ready. Had cladding replace no problem. The problem is the Right Front and Right Read door Glass. They both have real small fine scratches in them like some has used and abrasive pad or fine steel wool to try and clean the water spots off. The dealer refuses to do anything about it and the detail guy says he did not do it. They all claim it is some thing from the factory but as it is a small appearance blemish, and I can see out, nothing will be done. They claim this is a problem with many of the vehicles, my claim it was not there when they delivered it. Any body else have this problem with the glass? Dealer claims they called other dealers and the report same problem. Oh yes there are still water spots or something on the glass and paint. This sucks! vehicle was built in 12 of 03. Dealer also claims contract car washere caused the problem (portable spray washers the go from dealer to dealer washing cars) any advice? about ready to trade it in on something else that is clean and blemish free. They won't get my service work I will drive the miles to another dealer to have it done.
hey i read this on here about someone using glass cleaner for ceramic cooktops, those glass top stoves. itll take off the waterspots supposedly and it might even help with those fine scratches. i would try it somewhere not too noticeable in case it leaves more swirls.
Any body have any Ideas on how to remove scratchs from glass? If you can put them you should be able to get them out I would think. I am still going to fight the dealer on this but in the mean time need to find out if it can be polished before I end up buying new glass. I does not affect visibility looking out it just looks like crap from the outside, not like a 35k vehicle with 300 miles on it.
