clink?
Not sure if your rear shaft is a one piece or 2 peice but either way, it could be u-joints. On mine, there is a boot near the end of the shaft. You can cut the strap on it, pull it and it will seperate from the other part of the shaft. Clean it real good and then grease the joint. It is called a slip joint and it WILL make a clinking noise on most models. Put the rubber boot back on and secure it with plastic wire ties. Oh yea, you may want to drop the entire shaft so that you can check your joints but for the slip joint, you only have to drop the rear section.
Good luck,
Good luck,
Is the clank cling or clump from the front?
If it is dump your auto hubs if your running them you got one stuck maybe driving one front shaft.
Jack up the front of the truck on one side at a time spin wheel if driveshaft spins with wheel you got a stuck hub.

thanks, it seems to do it more often if i am shifty from reverse into drive after backing out of the driveway, i do stop completely first. to me it sounds like its coming from the area of the transmition and it sounds like plinking a steel target at the shooting range.
