Engine fan stuck 'on'

Engine fan stuck 'on'

My truck sounds like its got a b52 under the hood right now. The fan is engaged at all times. Is this a seized fan clutch, or does this happen periodically? As an aside, you should hear the thing at 4000+ rpm.

Sounds like the clutch is toast.

Don't think I've ever heard of one of them breaking that way. Usually they fail to engage...

Monsta ,of all the ones I have replaced ,they seize up . I have replace 4 on various trucks ,granted not superduty's or v10's

Yeah, thats for sure. Its gonna have to wait til next weekend, though. I'm not gonna hurt anything in the meantime, am I?

Yep that sure sounds right about the clutch locked up. Had that happen to me a time or two. They are not real hard to change out though.
