hmm, now that's interesting. My vibrated from the beginning, but I've done well over 100 miles in 4x4 high, and at least 50 mi in 4x4 low. I suppose the only way I'd know is by going down to the shop and having them put it up in the air to check it out. Thanks for this new angle - didn't think of that.

Easy to check yourself. You should be able to reach around the front tire behind the disk rotors. Grab the drive u joint and turn it. If it doesn't turn freely, your hubs are locked. Turn the hub locks from "Auto" to "Lock" and back to "Auto". That should free the lock and you should be able to turn that drive u-joint. If not, off to the service department.

Any time I run mine in 4wd, when I go back into 2wd I run mine in reverse for about 25-30 feet, if the transfer case is uder load when you shift it out of 4wd back to 2wd it wont go....so if you run it in reverse it unloads the drivetrain so it will shift back into 2wd....try it out it works. Tim

Tim's method is the recommended method for the older 4WD. That's the way my Bronco worked. Take it out of 4WD, unlock the hubs and throw it in reverse for 20'.

Shouldn't have to do it on these but worth a try. I'll check the manual and see what it says.
