Im thinking about dropping my 98' ranger about 4 or 5 inches next spring. Any comments or suggestions?
5 inches is alot of drop and could result in a hard riding truck if not done correctly, and you can expect some clearence problems. You could bag it if you have a deep wallet and can put up with compressors, valves, bags, switches, wiring and other stuff that can fail at any time. My '99 is lowered 3" with springs and I have had no problems in five years. The ride is still good although not as good as stock, but it turns like it is on rails. The rear is an easy drop, requiring only springs and shocks which took about two hours in my driveway ( I did not want a flip kit that required notching the frame). The front springs and shocks are not hard to install, but an alignment kit is necessary so I left that up to the pros. Be sure to use good, name brand parts. You can see what 3" looks like in my gallery. Good luck.

thats a nice looking truck you have there any performance mods on it? or is it just a show truck?
Thank you. I have not updated my gallery for some time and a few changes have been made. The Ranger is my toy and is an ongoing project that will probably never be finished. I just take my time and enjoy the doing (One of my projects, a '50 Chebby coupe took me eight years to complete and went from stock to a full custom with a 400 inch V8). I have a big chrome air tube with a K&N, but otherwise stock. I am currently changing the exhaust setup for the fourth time and I think I've finally got the look I want ... main thing is to have fun and enjoy.
