supercharger

i was wondering if anybody knew anything about putting a supercharger on a '95 ford f-150 351c.i. the supercharger i was looking at was a powerdyne. if anyone has comments they would be very helpful.

The Powerdyne is a centrifigual (sp?) supercharger so it makes most of it's boost at high RPMs...which is fine if you regularly drive above 3000 rpm.

I think you would be happier with a Kenne Bell, or similar supercharger. Also, if your engine and tranny have a lot of miles then you would be better off just having it rebuilt.

my tranny has 107,000 miles. i dont figure that to be to high. what do you think.

i agree with nascarnut, a kenniebell would be better for a truck but I do know someone who has a powerdyne on his 96 and he likes it, not complaints yet. 100,000 is a little much to start putting a supercharer on. Atleast I would think twice about it. I have seen new cars with only five pounds of boost eat a cast piston plebty of times.

What are your plans for this truck....is it mainly for towing/hauling or will it see some street/strip action?

I would think twice about it but I prefer reliability over power. How much more power are you wanting?

get a crate 302/351 from Ford racing you will have a new engine for a little more to same price a supercharger. I think that a 302 from ford is like $3000 i could be wrong i have a ford racing magazine i could look it up for you
