is MERCON V safe for 89 aerostar? I noticed a difference
when im using this oil, the tranny is slow to react in city driving but great in the freeway. Or could it be the 3-4 solenoid that i replaced which is a little bit tight/fits just right on the valve. (old one is kinda loose)

It's similar to how you can run SJ oil in an engine the specifies SD but you can't go the other way. You can check Valvoline's website, go to the ATF category and pick their Durablend product
